One of the fastest growing areas in Kentucky. It is rich in heritage and history. The County is unique in that it has two townships, Richmond and Berea. The County sits next to Fayette County with the Kentucky river as its border and is minutes away from Lexington.

Madison County is a blend of urban, suburban and rural environments. It is a rapidly growing county enjoying both residential and industrial growth.

As a tourist site, the County offers many attractions in which to visit. Berea is known as the capital of artisan crafts in the state of Kentucky. Bybee, also located in Madison County, is known for it’s exquisite pottery. If you would like to take a step back in history, located in the northern part of Madison County is White Hall Historic State Shrine and Fort Boonesboro State Park.

Added to these features Berea College, Eastern Kentucky University, numerous parks, golf courses, the Kentucky River, and you have excellent environment in which to work and live.

Committed to all peoples of the earth
Since its founding in 1855, Berea College’s spiritual foundation, “God has made of one blood all people of the earth,” has shaped the institution’s culture and programs. Founder John G. Fee, and ardent abolitionist, asserted that Berea was founded “in the midst of many privations and persecutions to peach and apply a gospel of impartial love…”

Founded in 1906, Eastern Kentucky University now offers 168 degree programs and serves nearly 16,000 students a year. But with small classes and an active campus life, we haven’t lost that small-college feel. EKU colonels men & women’s basketball teams both made it the the NCAA tournament this year.
